System Case Types

  1. Desktop computer – usually placed on or near a user’s desk
  2. System case – a box that houses the motherboard, CPU, memory, adapter cards, disk drives, and the power supply.
  3. Tower case – desktop computer that sits up and down on a surface.
  4. SFF case: case for motherboards and connectors that takes up less space

Motherboard

  • A circuit board inside the computer that helps the communication between electrical components.
  • Houses the CPU, memory, and other components.
